Sai Kung Markets Limited began as a small idea in December 2013. Having searched for somewhere to sell gourmet foods without any luck, I decided to start a small market as an outlet for my goods. I wanted the market to be locally driven with a community spirit, I wanted it to be eco-friendly, and I wanted it to be fun.
In March 2014 we opened the doors to our first event, Sai Kung Sunday Market. The rest is, as they say, history. Thousands of visitors and hundreds of vendors later we are still fine-tuning the market. I believe that will never end.
We started to expand cautiously. We've held other markets in other areas of Hong Kong and we're always looking for other possibilities.
Sai Kung Sunday Market is a place for families, friends and community to come together in an indoor environment which allows us to operate whatever the weather, and to reconnect in a way not always possible. We'll try to always hold markets indoors, with the unpredictable weather here in Hong Kong it's a must. Who wants to be baked, drowned or steamed when it's not necessary. But, if the venue presents itself and it's outside . . . well, we'll do our best to make everyone as comfortable as possible.
Vendor or visitor, welcome to the Sai Kung Markets Ltd. website! We are very proud of our little company and what it's achieved in such a short time. Stay a while, and tell us what you think of our little endeavour . . . we’re always ready to learn and we hope to see you at one of our events soon.
